We have just redid the look of www.oinkinkstore.com. Listening to our customers, we found three things that needed work.
1. Take off the ads – DONE
2. Use some sort of Color scheme – Done
3. Get pictures of all your products up there – In Progress
We have streamlined the website by taking all the ads off. Links for our empty program and RIO refill program are now on the side bar.

If you order off from Staples.com and own the Brother MFC-790CW, be careful.
We regularly use Staples.com as a reference site for what cartridges go to what printers. However, they have some miss information on the MFC-790CW. They list the LC61 standard Brother cartridges, as well as the high capacity LC65 packs. (link is here) So, after seeing that, I ordered the LC65 for the customer, which is a better value. Customer came back in two days later and asked if I could install it cause he couldn’t. Neither could I, it didn’t fit.
I refunded his payment and then started looking. I went to Brother-usa.com and decided to look on there. Sure enough, the MFC-790CW only takes the LC61 cartridges (See Here).
So as a reminder, the LC65’s will NOT work with the Brother MFC-790CW, only the LC61.

Well the word came out on Friday. Circuit City is closing the remaining USA stores by the end of March. And now you are seeing blogs and articles regarding buying stuff from a company going out of business. Is it really a deal, what happens if it breaks, what about my old extended warranty? I am not going to get into that, look on MSN and Yahoo for that information.
I want to talk about their printers. A while ago, I made a post regarding CC and Lexmark printers. That their exclusive printers they sold from Lexmark were really Europe models, which means you needed to get your cartridges from CC, or Lexmark UK (and on some, Lexmark.com). Now with them going out of business, what does that mean for the supplies. (see my article here)
On some cartridges, O-ink does have the replacements, like the Lexmark #2 and #3. Others like the #4 and #5 are available on Lexmark’s website. Most of the people who did get them from Circuit City just might have to get a new printer. I hope Lexmark smartens up a little and will offer the CC only cartridges on there website.
Even though I did not like this marketing practice that they did, I do feel sorry for the over 30,000 employees who will be out of a job by March 31st.

I would like to first thank all our readers and say Merry Christmas to you and a happy new years. If you follow another religion, I hope your holiday is good to you.
2008 has been a great year for us and interesting for our industry.
The big new this year was the price increases by almost all the printer manufactures. Even with the price of oil dropping, I don’t think they will lower their prices.
All of the other news is normal stuff, new cartridges and new printers. It will be interesting to see if Lexmark can turn their inkjet division around and how Epson takes to refillers (there are still people selling the compatibles, which are mostly illegal).
We have our two websites up and running. The latest one is www.samedayinkjet.com and our old reliable www.oinkinkstore.com. Check them out if you get a chance
Until 2009, have a great holiday.

I have set up countless printers, however, I have never set up one wirelessly. We just received it on Thursday the 20th, and on Saturday, that was my job. Putting it together and installing the drivers on the local computer was a snap. Then I thought, ‘hey it has wireless, I have a wireless network and Macbook.
Step one – Remembering my WPA key. Finally got it thanks to my Macbook.
Once that was done I thought I was set, followed the simple instructions on the screen and then, NOTHING. What happened, it froze. Hmm, time for HP’s website. Problem was easy enough to solve, just need to make the IP address from automatic to manual. The problem is you can only do that through the printer, and of course it is still froze. Unplug and restart a few times and I finally got it, only to no avail.
So I had to break down, and call HP Tech support. I must say that was the easiest call I have made, the guy on the other end was friendly and easy to talk to. After 3 minutes, I found out I needed to update the firmware. He stayed on the phone with me the entire time til I printed out the test page. Thanks.
So to review if you have the HP OfficeJet Pro L7780 and try to do the wireless networking and the printer freezes on you, do the following:
- Restart it and turn off the wireless radio (it might take a few times)
- Download the firmware update for the printer and then flash it.
- Restart the printer when everything is said and done, and create your wireless network.
UPDATE – At the time I did not have the link for the downloads. Here is the page for the Windows XP Drivers and software for the L7780.
