Shame on you HP Phone support

December 30, 2008

One of my personal biggest complaints against people and companies is when they do not admit they screwed up and then make it right with you. It doesn’t matter if it is a friend, or employee. If you screw up, admit it.

Just had a customer come in asking for the HP 74XL Replacement Black cartridge. He liked our price and bought it. Then proceeds to tell me how HP screwed him. He purchased this printer over the phone and decided (with some salesperson help) to get some extra cartridges. He didn’t have any reason to open the extra cartridges til last week. Upon opening the black cartridge, it is a 564 cartridge, NOT the 74 that he needs. So he calls HP, thinking since they have his money, maybe they will swap the wrong cartridges out. WRONG. Instead he finds out that since it has been more than 21 days since he bought the cartridges, there is nothing, I repeat, NOTHING they will do for him.

Come on HP, don’t you make enough money that you can surely swap out the cartridges for the guy. Heck, if I sold the customer the wrong cartridge or they told me the wrong cartridge, I give them almost a year to return it.
